A meeting of Ethiopian graduates of Soviet / Russian universities took place on Addis Ababa on Tatyana's Day on January 25, which also became a pilot event in a series of events dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Ethiopia.
The official part of the evening was opened by the speeches of the head of the Rossotrudnichestvo representative office A. M. Tsykunov and the Russian ambassador to Ethiopia E.E. Terekhin. The RCSC Director A. Tsykunov briefly covered the history of the creation of the RCSC, the results of the center’s work today and its plans for the future, separately announcing the upcoming events of the center dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Victory and the 95th anniversary of Rossotrudnichestvo. Head of the Russian diplomatic mission E.E. Terekhin noted the role of the RCSC in the development of humanitarian cooperation between Russia and Ethiopia over the past period and its current work. Congratulated RCSC on the anniversary.
During the buffet dinner, the leitmotif of all subsequent speeches of the guests, including members of the Parliament, the political, creative and business elite of the country, our compatriots had a desire to rally the Ethiopians who studied in Russia, to recreate their organization and make it a genuine center of mutual assistance and interaction of graduates.
The cultural part of the evening was the photo exhibition “Foreign Students in Russia” and the screening of the film “Africa Outlook from Moscow”.
According to guests, the celebration was organized at a high level, the participation of recognizable representatives of the Ethiopian public attached particular importance to the anniversary of the RCSC, the cultural program was also rich and interesting for the audience.
