From November 13 to 25, with the organizational support of the Rossotrudnichestvo representative office in Ethiopia, Addis Ababa and Kampala (Uganda) hosted concerts by the Russian musical group Vertograd.
The first concert of the Vertograd trio took place on November 16 in Kampala (Uganda) at the Festival of Russian Culture, organized by KSORS compatriots living in Uganda. The festival was opened by the ambassador of Russia in Uganda A.D. Polyakov and the head of the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in Ethiopia A.M. Tsykunov. The festival was attended by representatives of state institutions of the country, local business and creative elites, heads of foreign diplomatic missions, as well as our compatriots and graduates. The event was a huge success, covered by the country's central local media. The participation of Russian artists at the Uganda Festival was organized by the Rossotrudnichestvo representative office in Ethiopia as part of regional work with neighboring countries.
From November 21 to 24, the Vertograd ensemble continued its concerts in Ethiopia. Three concerts at the venues of the Russian Embassy in Ethiopia, in the hospital of the Russian Red Cross, Balcha and RCSC also had great success with the Ethiopian public, and were covered by Ethiopian media.
On November 21, a concert was held at the Russian Embassy in Ethiopia for senior guests - heads of departments of the Foreign Ministry and other departments of Ethiopia, heads of foreign diplomatic missions and embassy staff. The evening was opened by the Minister of Culture and Tourism of Ethiopia, Dr. Hirut K. Wondim and Russian Ambassador to Ethiopia E.E. Terekhin.

On November 23, at the RCSC venue in Addis Ababa, the final concert of the Vertograd ensemble's tour of Africa was held, the guests of which were our compatriots, graduates of Soviet / Russian universities, as well as those who wanted to once again enjoy the virtuoso performance of Russian performers in balalaika and button accordion and listen to the performance of Russian folk songs.
Ugandan and Ethiopian spectators admired the performance of young Russian virtuoso with great admiration and accompanied each performance of the musicians with stormy applause. The tour of the Vertograd trio was a clear confirmation of the image of Russia as a country with a rich cultural heritage.
